it was a pretty chill day, woke up (late, i was feelin sickly) went to HBC, shortly after which we all kinda spilt up to take care of different errands. some of us went to the bank to exchange more yen, while others of us (me included of course) went to a used book shop to pick up some fun stuff. we returned to church in time to leave for momoyama university (peach mountain, or st. andrew's university). it wasn't the most ideal circumstances in which to talk with the students, but we got to do some oragami and play some games with them. even so, there were conversations centered around the gospel (praise the Lord!!) we went to a restaurant (the same one we went to last year) and ate with the students (it was an "izakaya" or beer house but rest assured, we all were sober both in body, spirit and minds). we headed back to the cars and said our goodbyes to the students. on the way back to HBC, we stopped off to get some ice cream, but then it was pretty much back to church, walked home, showered and slept.

so this was craaazzyy long day #2 of our trip, starting out super early at 6:50 at HBC. we all headed out on the train for yodoyabashi (train station where we were to meet the students for our daytrip to kyoto). we got there a bit before 8, met up with the students, and rode to kyoto. it was a pretty nice ride, lots of conversation went on (fo shizzles) and when we got to kyoto, we walked to kiyomizu temple (called "clear water" temple) and played tourists for a little while. super green and super cool is how i would describe it... it was like i was in princess mononoke again (went here last year, but it was raining). so yeah, we walked around, took pictures, talked, and pretty much just hung out with the students. after which we went back to the main road leading back to the city (lots of shops and stuff around) and we all split up to do some shopping and some lunching. most of us went to the same restaurant we ate at last year (oh yes, i love predictability!) but this time, i got me a sword. (my apartment may need some insurance for damage...) anyways, after walking around a bit, we met up and headed off to our next destination, which was a big shrine thingy... but we never got there. this is the funny part where we all look back and laugh. the thing is due to our large group size, we all couldn't fit into one bus to get to our destination, so we split into two smaller groups. the first group got to the destination just fine... but i guess the memebers of our group were a bit beat, because we kinda fell asleep and missed our stopped by a LOT. needless to say, it was a fun little adventure trying to get back together with our other half (praise the Lord for cell phones!) unfortunately, we ran out of time to visit the shrine (no loss, its just a bunch of man-made idols that cause man to sin anyways...) so we headed back to the train station after we met up with the other half of our group after stopping off and getting some ice cream (it was super muggy, so ice cream was much yummy). once on the train, i think people talked, but i kinda knocked out, so i wasn't fully conscious of my surroundings. i do however remember ray ray taking a poloriod of me sleeping... which is weird, cause i would think that he'd be sick of seeing me sleeping (he wakes up earlier than me every day). i digress... some of the students parted ways at yodoyabashi, because they weren't coming to the concert later that night (reason for our super long day) so we said our goodbyes and continued on back to HBC. once back to the church, i went to freshen up and change upstairs, and we had a sound check at 5; the concert started shortly after 6. the concert went-- well, let's just say that God was glorified through our worship. after that we chatted with the students over dinner.
