On Monday, after helping out at the Okada`s place, Hyo, Beland, Ed, and I went to Yoshinoya`s (Beland`s favorite) with some students we met from Osaka Prefecture University. So while the others on the team were babysitting Nicky and Noah (the Okada kids), we were chowing down with Ash, Kurara, Yuuto, and Mike. All of them are a part of the Engish Speaking Society at the university. Dinner time was spent talking about the gospel and building relationships with these student. We praise God for such opportunities and for His sovereignty. Indeed, we are priveleged to carry the message of the cross. Afterward, we went out to eat ice cream and then went back to our houses. Jun, a member of Hamadera Bible Church and also a seminary student, was kind enough to drop us off and pick us up from OPU. The memberes of Hamadera Bible Church have been so generous and gracious to us since we`ve gotten here. We are all very thankful for them and very encouraged by them.
Yesterday, we had a meeting in the morning and then took a break until lunch. During the break, Ray started meeting up with each person on the team one-on-one to discuss how the trip is going. Lunch was very tasty; we ate at church. The ladies at the church made us lunch again. After that, we went to a Jr. College...but i forgot what the name of it was. It was very interesting because all of the people in their English club spoke Chinese! The Lord is so good to us for putting so many Chinese-speaking people on our team. Many (if not all) the members of our team were able to talk about the gospel to them. However, at least for me, it was difficult because the level of their English was a little less advanced than the other schools. I know for Ed and I, it was the first time sharing the gospel in Chinese, so it was quite a challenge, but God is faithful and we are all praying that the Lord would grow these seeds that He has allowed to be sown.
After the Jr College, we went to OPU for the third time. It is neat seeing how friendships are starting to form between the members of our team and the members of the club. We chatted for a while and then played some games. Afterward, we went to eat dinner at their cafeteria. Then we stayed at church for just a bit before we went back to our host homes.
The Lord is teaching me daily about humility. He is showing me His sovereignty in all things, even just in where He sits me down to eat or chat everyday. Glory be to God alone!
btw, Ray was feeling ill today, please pray for his health!
