Day 15 (Steve)
Howdy supporters!
An update on today. Free morning. Spent it making backup plans for the afternoon (original was to play at Hamadera Park) since it was to rain all day, wrapping gifts for church members, writing thank you notes, and me working on Wordpress stuff.
Afternoon time. A day of American games and activities planned. We should have done this earlier. 4 came. 1 from Osaka U (OU) (Shinichiro), 3 from Osaka Prefecture U (OPU) (Ryo, Shun, Kenta). Started off slow and everyone (team and guests) was dragging their feet. Games turned out to be not that exciting. Then Nertz, and we all got into it. Lucy and I won (sorry, had to include that, we're too competitive ). Costco Pizza dinner (American food!), with several HBC members hanging around, so they got to talk to the students a bit. Boom-chicka-boom-boom afterward, tons of fun. OPU students left, and Shinichiro stayed a lot longer and really enjoyed his time with us.
Team's holding up pretty good physically. I think we're simultaneously glad (because it's been exhausting) and sad that it's basically over. Mostly sad because tiredness is temporary and less of an issue (far less!). We had a great time today bonding with the students, HBC members (Jun's got CRAZY moves), and each other.
Some details of people we'd like you to keep praying for now follow. Their salvation is the most obvious prayer request. Second is their connection to HBC, that it'd strengthen and they'd start coming regularly. More specific stuff follow their names.
Shinichiro: he's skipped class many times to chill with us. Wow. He enjoys hanging with us. Pray the Lord draws him to hang out with HBC people more and ultimately to salvation.
Kuribo: quiet engineer from OU. I like him. Spent a lot of time with him the two times we visited OU. Shared Gospel with him.
Shin: we've blogged about him before. Read previous posts.
Shota: HBC liaison for ESS. Good relationship with Okada-sensei. Has onsened with team once early in trip. Has had recent trials in his life. Pray for that to continue.
Ryo: fashionista Chem E from OPU. We've shared the Gospel. He finds it hard to believe though he sees the pressing issue. Pray for him to realize a non-decision = rejection.
Sayumi: like Ryo, finds it hard to believe. Connected REALLY well with Lucy. Pray for their relationship to continue.
Yusuke: expressed interest in Christ last year. Less so this year. One of the ESS juniors, so he's kind of a leader and therefore a very busy guy. Pray that the soil wouldn't be weedy but good.
Kenta: quiet guy from OPU, likes Michael Jackson (don't stop!) and we bonded over that. I think he's heard the Gospel, but I'm going to make sure if he comes to BBQ tomorrow.
Shun: quiet guy I met at Kyoto yesterday. Was horrible at taking jumping pictures. Don't know where he's at spiritually, but we'll find out tomorrow if he comes to BBQ.

More PRs:
- That my State-side continued Wordpress work for the HBC website would proceed with minimal complications and burden to Okada-sensei
- For the salvation of: Shinichiro and Kuribo from OU; Shin, Shota, Ryo, Sayumi, Yusuke, Kenta, and Shun from OPU.
- Sunday ministry: for us to edify the saints in the morning and have final Gospel conversations with OPU students at July 4 BBQ in the evening.
- Monday ministry: one last day with OU students. Pray for us to connect them well with HBC.
Maranatha,
Steve
