This Sunday was the last full day we will be spending in Japan. We’ve been saying goodbye since we stepped into church this morning, but it has been immensely encouraging to look upon all that we have been a part of these past few weeks. During morning service, the team was invited to share a recap of our ministry and to perform a song, “Behold our God.”
It is certainly fitting to marvel at the amazing God that we serve, that not only forgave us and saved us from eternal condemnation, but that he would use us to do His work. We have received His grace through the gospel, and His grace has been so tangible during this trip, when every breath and every word we said was weak without the power of the Word and of truth.
A handful of students also joined us for morning service, and it was a blessing to see them come with eagerness to learn. Please pray for their hearts, that they may continue to want to learn even when the team leaves, and that God places people in their lives to help them grow and stay curious about Christ.

Looking back at our ministry, I can’t help but see God’s hand in everything that we did – the conversations and the timing and placement of people and situations have allowed some students to receive the gospel with a desire to know more, and I pray that this will continue! Many have expressed a desire to go to church and read the Bible – may that move them towards salvation.
During lunch, a Eric and Korinn shared testimonies about our trip, and Shota, a student saved through the Japan 1 ministry, shared his testimony of salvation. Church members, team members and even the non-believing students marveled at the work God has done in Shota’s life. He has been so bold to proclaim the gospel, which saved him after years of apathy. The rest of the morning, the team spent hanging out with the church and saying out bittersweet goodbyes. Hamadera Bible Church, we love you and will miss you so much.

Please pray:
- That the gospel may stay with the students, and that they continue to have a desire to learn.
- For safety on our flight back home tomorrow night.
- That the team continues to direct all glory to God as we wrap up our time here.
