Our trip is coming to a close. We have had the privilege of seeing God work in and through us. We each have grown in our personal walks with God, and have seen God grow others' hearts towards him.
Today, Kondo-sensei and Takashi Kondo took us to a Christian Bookstore in central Osaka in the morning. The car ride gave us some time to rest and store up energy for the evening.
After coming back, we began preparing for the BBQ. This was our last event with the students, so there was much excitement. We filled about 100 water balloons and prepared food for the BBQ. The event was hosted by the Japanese College Evangelism Team, so most of them were able to be there plus the Mortimers!

We had one student from OPU come out to the BBQ at the church plus two of Takashi Kondo's friends. We played HORSE in the parking lot, and just as the rain began to fall, we busted out the water balloons, and there were explosions all over the place! In the end after all of the balloons had been popped, they resorted to dumping the bucket of water on Takashi.
In order to escape the rain, we moved inside for a few rounds of Ultimate Ninja, Signs, and Pin the tail on the donkey. Then, Fumika was able to share her testimony with the group in Japanese. The students seemed engaged. We thought it was really relatable for the students since she was in their shoes just the year before.
Then we all had dinner together, and many people were able to have gospel-centered conversations with the students. It was really helpful for us that there were less students and more staff, so that we were able to work with each other to advance the gospel!
Our hope is that these students would get connected to the local church, so that the church would be able to follow up with them and continue to minister to them on a more long-term basis. Please pray with us that this would happen! We want the students on the college staff (those that were introduced on an earlier post) to continue to reach out to them.
