Hello Everyone!
Today was our first full day in Japan. It was full of ministry, fellowship, and fun. We started off the day by meeting at Hamedera Bible Church (HBC), which is the church that we are serving at. Once we were at the church, Eric led a devo on Ephesian 2:1-5 and he explained how our identity in Christ should motivate us to share the gospel with the people that we would be meeting. Afterwards, we were able to spend some time praying for our upcoming weeks of ministry.
After our meeting, we got ready for the next few weeks of ministry by assembling some gift bags to give to the college students that we will be meeting. Inside the bags, we have a CD that contains our testimonies, some praise songs, and a Gospel Presentation in Japanese.
When we had finished with the bags, we also got the opportunity to have lunch at the church with a few of the members. It was a very fun time where we were able to get to know the members more and spend a little time conversing with a mix of English, Japanese, and hand gestures. Needless to say it was a very entertaining sight to take in.
Later on in the day, we went to Namba, which is a city-mall in Japan. I don’t really know how to describe it, but imagine a city where every street is full of restaurants and stores. When we were at Namba, we were able to meet up with Mako who is the Mortimer’s oldest son. The Mortimer’s are missionaries here in Japan. Later on Fumika also met up with us and we were able to eat dinner together. After dinner we headed back to church and we each headed back to our own host homes.
