Saturday May 16th we held a fundraising event for our Japan team. We had a Totoro movie night plus lots of yummy Japanese snacks. Part of the night also included short presentations about our team and the ministry in Japan.
Crossroads Volleyball TournamentYesterday was Grace Church's annual volleyball tournament hosted by Crossroads, the college/young adult fellowship group. All of the money raised from the tournament goes to support those who are going on short-term ministry trips this summer. The tournament is also a great evangelistic event. Many members of Crossroads invite their unbelieving friends and family out for a fun day of volleyball, cheap food, and raffle prizes. During the lunch break, the Gospel message was preached to all those in attendance. This year, over 30 unbelievers came to the tournament, so please be in prayer for these lost souls who have now heard the good news of salvation. Our team was eager to play in the volleyball tournament because we wanted to support other short-term ministry teams and to be supported ourselves. We enjoyed a full day of friendly competition and great fellowship. Here are a few pictures: Salvation TestimoniesOver the next few days, we'll be posting our individual salvation testimonies. Our testimonies show how God personally rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son. How He made us alive with Christ and forgave us of every single one of our sins. How He gave us the hope of eternal life. We hope this will be an encouragement to you and a way of getting to know us better.
We're praying hard for the unsaved students that we'll be meeting in Japan this summer. Perhaps one day, they too will have a salvation testimony to tell. Japan 1 Short-Term MinistryThe Japan 1 short-term ministry team is off to the races! This summer, we'll be partnering with Hamadera Bible Church in Osaka to evangelize to college and high school students. Accompanied by some young adults from the church, we will visit several colleges in the area and meet students primarily through on-campus English clubs. As we develop friendships with the students at the various colleges, we'll be taking every opportunity God gives us to share the Gospel with them. Later in the trip, we're going to invite the students out to church events where we'll have additional opportunities to cultivate our relationships with them and to evangelize to them. We're excited to see what the Lord will do in the hearts of those we minister to in Japan. He alone has the power to turn the hearts of sinners to faith in Him, and we count ourselves blessed to be the instruments He uses to bring the Gospel to those in Japan. We'd love for you to be a part of our ministry. There are many ways you can be involved, and one very important way is supporting us in prayer. Here are three prayer requests that we have as a team: 1. The salvation of the Japanese students we will meet 2. The team's boldness in sharing the Gospel 3. The health and safety of the team while in Japan Meet the team! To find out more ways to be involved in our ministry and to keep updated with our ministry preparations, please keep an eye out for future posts on this site. Thank you in advance for all your prayers and support!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17) |
