We have a special surprise treat for you all Fumika wanted to be able to share with everyone about her trip to LA and has put together a short message for everyone to read:
“Hello everyone!
This time was the first time I went to America. Surprisingly everything there such as the town, tree, food and people was bigger than in my country Japan. My trip for three weeks passed very rapidly but it was huge blessing for me to have met the Christ-family and fellowship with them. A purpose of my visit was volunteering. From Monday to Friday, I was volunteering at Food Bank where we offered many HIV patient a variety of foods.
On the weekends, I went to Santa Monica beach with members of STM team 1 and STM team 2 who I met in Japan in 2012 and Getty museum with host family and visited to UCLA campus. And also I got to attend a few Bible study such as Japanese Bible study and International Bible study and learnt a lot about Jesus Christ: importance of prayer, our sin, and God’s love. The more time passed, the more my love of God grew stronger. It was difficult to understand what they were saying because of the language barrier. However I’m so convinced that God was working in me. I was really happy to see them and I really appreciate His grace. From now, I carry on living to show people glory of God.
Thank you guys and love you guys☆
P.S. My favorite food in America is tacos and nutella! Haha♪

I hope you have been as encouraged by what she’s shared. It has been a huge blessing for our team to have been able to spend time with her while she was here. Her excitement for the Gospel and her eagerness to learn is quite contagious.
We had a reunion lunch at the Brightups the first weekend she was here. Tomomi and Matt joined us that day and we were all excited to see them again. (Plus Michael had a new person to tell his cookie joke to, which we all enjoy so much). During Fumika’s time in LA, she was able to attend GCC, IBC, see some baptisms at IBC with Matt and Tomomi, visit UCLA and GOC, and do some shopping and sightseeing. She was also able to check out some college campuses here with her host family and get some information about the schools and programs.

Please be praying for her as she’s back in Japan now. We know that wherever she is, God will continue to watch over her and that He will grow her in knowledge and love for Him. You can also be praying for guidance and wisdom as she makes decisions about her schooling and patience as she communicates with her parents. We loved being able to share with her the things we were learning and pray that God will enable her to be faithful to live out what she’s learned.
Japan STM Teams 1 and 2 are in the process of being formed right now. I can’t believe we’re already approaching another summer but it’s here! Along with the prayer requests for Fumika, you can also be praying for this process as well. I’m excited to see who God will bring on these trips this coming summer and I hope you are too.
