Hey guys!
Sorry we've been behind on blogging. It's been pretty busy here!
On Wednesday, after our morning meeting, we were able to join the church in their weekly prayer meetings. Kondo sensei reviewed his sermon and we were able to pray for our ministry. I was really encouraged to know that the church is fervently praying for us and the Japanese Staff.
Afterwards, the guys joined Takashi Kusumoto in his Japanese Culture class at Momoyama, a Lutheran University. The class was way different than those at UCLA! Most of the students weren't paying attention, but more surprisingly, they blatantly ignored the professor by talking, reading Manga, or just sleeping. The teacher tried to fight over the noise, but it was pretty clear she was losing. Given that Japanese people hold respect, honor and politeness so highly, it was surprising to see how they were in class. Takashi was very diligent though and took lots of notes. :)
While the guys were away, the girls also went to Momoyama, but theyere hanging out in the coffee shop with Miho Futoi's friend. They had a good time playing our favorite game, Apples to Apples.
At night, we went to Ario for dinner and shopping. We had a good time with Etsuko and Yukari, enjoying some much needed team time. I love the times we can just hang out with each other and encourage one another.
Thanks for continually praying!! Keep praying for the students and our team! We're at the final push now, and we need those prayers more than ever!
