So there are 15 days until we depart for Japan. This is my second time going on this trip, and I am really excited to see the Japanese friends that the Lord allowed me to meet last year. I am praying that God would use our team greatly in the lives of the believers and nonbelievers that we'll meet. I was reading through last year's entries on this xanga site, and it's really neat to remember God's goodness to us on the trip last year.
I love seeing that in so many events and unexpected occurences during the trip, our team members remembered to give praise to God. Each person that we met was a soul that God sovereingly allowed us to meet.
When I went to Japan last year, because it was my first time to Japan and my first time on a short term missions trip, I really did not know what to expect. I actually feel pretty much the same way this year. I feel like I should have a better idea of what will happen because I went last year, but I really don't know how God will us this year. I am really excited to see what God will do in the short amount of time we will be there. It is my desire that He would grow our team's view of Him and of His kingdom.
Last year, I did not really have a preference as to where to go for missions. Japan was kind of a default when Albania did not work out. But after I came back from Japan last summer, I think the Lord really put on my heart a burden for the nation of Japan and a greater desire for His glory to be made known unto the ends of the earth. When it was time to decide where I wanted to go for missions this year, God really put in me a desire to go to Japan--a desire that definitely was not as strong last year.
I'm so glad God has put me on this team again. In the post last year that I made right about this time of year, I wrote that I really liked our team. Again, I really like our team this year! It will be a great time to practice the one anothers with one another, and that by the unity we have in Christ, the non-Christians we meet will know that God sent Jesus. Please pray for us and for the Japanese people!
"There is none like You, O LORD:/ You are great, and great is Your name in might./Who would not fear You, O King of the nations?/ Indeed it is Your due!/ For among all the wise men of the nations/ And in all their kingdoms,/ There is none like You." -Jeremiah 10:6-7

Well, the day is drawing near and each week brings us closer to the missions trip. I am very excited about going to Japan, and am thankful that I will be going with a lot of people who have already served over there, since I will know I will be able to get a lot of direction and guidance.
I have never been on a missions trip or even outside of the US, so this trip will be quite an experience for me. I am looking forward to spending a couple of weeks soley devoted to ministry and God's work. I feel so blessed that God has given me, and all of us, this opportunity. Praise His great name for all He does!

Hello to all reading this!
I just got done reading the past entries from the beginning of last year's trip, and all I can say is ... wow! I am so encouraged from all the posts - getting a glimpse of hearts and thoughts, being reminded of all our activities, and seeing the excitement in everyone there. I too am very excited to go back to HBC and serve alongside the missionaries, as well as meeting new (and hopefully old) friends from the colleges. I cannot believe it is only 16 days away!!!
Hopefully this year, I can serve more at the church. Last year, almost all my focus was spent on the unbelievers, and I wasn't as willing to serve the members at HBC. Since then, I've felt the need to be flexible and not have rigid plans set in my heart. Thus, I'm looking forward to spending quality time with members at the church, including the english-speaking teachers there - Amanda, Christi, Chiharu, and Aaron! Praise the Lord for His plan in sending those servants out to Osaka, so that unbelievers may be reached through English classes!
Please pray for humility in each of us... please pray for unity... and please pray for soft hearts in Japan - that in God's perfect will and timing, He would use us to bring the good news to the people in Osaka! Thank you all for supporting us through prayer and finances! Your service is much much much appreciated. =)
