(continuing from yesterday night)
hi again! konbanwa! hehe :) i just got back from Momoyama university tonight, but I will leave that for someone else to update. Before I talk about OPU yesterday, please pray for Beland; he started feeling pretty sick after dinner--kind of what me and Leah had but maybe a milder case. He has a slight fever and his stomach feels funny too. also, hyo felt a little funny this afternoon too so please pray for her as well. all of the rest of us are doing much much better. leah and i are off of the medicine now and are both doing almost 100% better.
alright, to OPU! OPU was really really good for many of us. me, beland, ray, adler, hyo, and leah got to go to OPU. me and adler thought it was funny cause hyo and leah didn:t go on monday and priscilla and addison didnt go this time--so it appeared that new people from America kept showing up. (okay, maybe that:s an inside joke haha) so hiro, the english club leader, met us at the parking lot like last time and walked us over to the classroom where we had "talk time", then "game time" and then "talk time" again. "talk time" was good; many of us got to share the gospel and talk to the students about christianity. i was especially encouraged during the first "talk time" because i got to talk to this one girl named eriko and her mom is a christian--so that totally was easy to talk about christianity with her. then for game time we played musical chairs, which is a very popular game in japan. the 2nd talk time was good too, i got to talk to 2 girls and afterwards we all went to the cafeteria to eat and continue talking. one of the 2 girls sat with me at the cafeteria, saeko, and i got to share the gospel with her.
i think God is continuing to show me and our team how hard the Japanese peoples hearts are, but to continue to be faithful and bold in proclaiming the Gospel to these people. I think it's been a good reminder for all of us to trust God in our ministry here and focusing more on being "planters" and not getting so caught up into wanting to see fruit while we're here. Please keep praying for our team and God providing us even more opportunities to share the gospel with people here--even when we're not in the university. (some of us have gotten to share the gospel in the english classes that we're helping out aaron with) this morning, this woman i was partners with in class, invited me and my team over to make (takoyaki--meat ball with octopus in the middle) to her house on sunday. please pray that we would show her what Christ's love looks like and that we would be able to continue to share with her. thanks!
