This is now the 2nd day of our time here in Japan. Didn't have a chance to update our progress until now.
On the day of our flight, we left Westwood at 6:30am and got to LAX. Thank God for the faithful brothers and sisters who drove us to LAX. After we got there, we found out that our flight was pushed earlier, so we missed our flight. Thus, we had to get on a later flight to San Francisco. After a short one hour flight, we arrived at SFO, and made it onto our international flight to KIX, Kansai International Airport in Osaka.

The plane ride there was long, and the "entertainment system" on the plane was broken, so we had a fun time entertaining ourselves. It was quite interesting. Most of the activities we did on the plane was sleeping... one interesting thing on the plane was that a flight attendant named Rob talked to Beland and Priscilla about religion. He claimed that the Bible has no proof, so it is stupid to believe in Christianity. His heart was hardened to the gospel, and I pray that God would one day have the mercy to soften his heart so he may be able to come to a saving knowledge of Christ. This taught me that it is important to know what we believe and why we believe. Being able to defend our faith is also important, but we need to stand firm in our belief.
After we arrived at KIX, some people were a lil shaken by the turbulence on the plane. On our way out of the airport, we were warmly greeted by Aaron, Gen, Sakaguchi, and Jun. They drove us to the Hamadera Bible Church. It's cool to see all the familiar sights on our way to church. Upon arriving at the church, we were welcomed by a party. Many church members were there and we had a great dinner talking with the people there. We saw the Okadas' baby, Nathan.
Later that night, Tetsuro came. He's the Japanese person Beland met at UCLA. He came over and hung out with the guys at church. The girls had already went back to their host families. This day was an exhausting day. I just passed out on the futon and slept until the morning.
On Monday morning, the guys who stayed at church woke up at around 7~8, We all got a pretty good night's sleep. After our 9am team meeting and 10:30 orientation, we had lunch. While waiting to go to the Osaka Prefecture University at 3:30, we all went to the music room and sang worship songs in there the whole time. It was a great time of praising our Lord!
This morning Leah was a little sick, so she decided not to go to OPU with us. Please pray that she would get better. Beland was sick yesterday, but today he is better. I started to have a headache and stomach sickness today. Hopefully it won't become something serious. Please pray for the health of the team members.
At 3:30pm, we left for OPU. Upon entering the familiar campus, Hiro and Naka came to greet us and lead us to the classroom. We had "free talk time" there all the way until dinner time. We've met a lot of new people as well as people who were there last year. It was a great and fun time of conversation.
As dinner time rolled around, we all went to the cafeteria. The food there was great, and more talking ensued. We all had a great time and built many friendships.
After we got back to the church at around 8:30pm, Leah was pretty sick, so Jun drove her back to Takenaka-san's house and called Shingo-san, who is a doctor. I hope she is alright. The other girls also went back to their host families. Hyo also arrived today and went to Takenaka-san's place.
Now, at 10pm, the other guys went to Lawson, which is a convenient store chain in Japan. I didn't go because I didn't feel very well, so I'll just shower and go to sleep... hehe, this is the earliest I've been to sleep in a long time... Praise the Lord for a wonderful day today!
