Hello everyone, this is Leah and it is my time to update, mwahahahahaha
Evil laughs aside, yesterday was a very cool day of hanging out with college students.
Evil laughs aside, yesterday was a very cool day of hanging out with college students.
An all day event was planned for saturday, and our goal throughout the week was to invite the college students at OPU and Momoyama university to come, and hopefully connect them to the college students at the church.
The event planned was a trip to Osaka Castle, and then a shopping trip to Namba City. Two college students came: Ken from OPU and Haruka from Momoyama. Another girl, Aya also came as a friend of Erika, a college student who goes to Hamadara.
At Momyama, Priscilla and I talked to Haruka about the gospel. She had been questioning the meaning of life recently, and was rethinking some things. We shared with her about God's character and our separation from Him due to sin, but I am not sure if she truely believes in her own sinfulness. She seemed to take in a lot of what we were saying, but had trouble believing that she too was a sinner who deserved hell.
We first went to Osaka Castle park, where we ate lunch and just spent time with eachother. The guys from the church spoke with Ken a lot, and us girls were able to talk a lot with Aya and Haruka. Hopefull some friendships and relationships were established. It was also a good spending time with Erika, as she is the only female college student at Hamadara. She said that it gets very lonely for her sometimes, and I could sense her eagerness to talk with Christians girls her own age, even with a language barrier.
After lunch we went to Osaka Castle. It is a famous Castle and battle ground of the Summer Osaka battle between the Tokogawa and Toyotomi shogunates. Inside it was like a mueseum, with a lot of history of the battle and artifacts.
After the Castle we went to Namba. Aya and Ken both had to leave, but Haruka stayed with us to shop. Although there were not many kids from the colleges there, it was good spending time with the Hamadara college group, getting to know the students and encouraging them.
After shopping we were all very tired and ready to sleep. We all went to our respective places of residence, ready to rest so that we could wake up bright and early for church the next morning.
Thanks for stopping by and please continue your prayers!
