Day 2 (Beland)
hey folks, belando desu.
Today is the first of our three Sundays here at Hamadera Bible church!
The team was introduced to the church during the services and spent a lot of time bowing and greeting our dear saints in the Lord.
For the Father's Day message today, Okada sensei gave a message that outlines the biblical role of women; during Mother's day last month, he apparent preached on biblical manhood. I thought that was pretty clever. Okada sensei said, "you're supposed to give a gift to the mothers right? What better gift is there than teaching the men to be godly men?"

During the middle service (10am to 11am), Steve and Priscilla gave their testimonies to the church with Japanese translation done by Okada sensei.
Mr. Kitano was born in 1928 and he fought in World War II. His wife had been coming to HBC for a while before she went to heaven. After communicating to Kondo sensei last week about the gospel via writings on the paper (he has trouble hearing), he became a Christian!
The team and some students took a trip to the local convenient store, Lawson Station, in the afternoon and got ourselves some snacks to enjoy : )
For dinner, about 10~15 students came to a dinner party at HBC. Throughout the night, there was lots of laughter, lots of explanations of English vocab words, lots of pictures, new friends, and a number of gospel conversations happening around the church!
After dinner, the team, a few of the church staff members, and Shota, one of our new friends from Osaka Prefecture University, took a late trip to the onsen (public bath house). It was a nice & relaxing experiencing capped off with a refreshing soft serve treat.
Great day of interaction with the students, praise the Lord!
