Day 4 (Dianna)
Mission goal:
split team: OPU campus <Osaka Perfecture University> and flyer for JOY JOY summer VBS flyer + basketball.
Team Leader: Beland Huang conducts morning devos, worship, prayer, then debrief daily recaps + break-downs.
OPU: Steve, Lucy, Alan, & Sarah for lunch then club meeting @ ESS <English Speaking Society>
only Shigeo aka Shige made it for lunch= the affirmed Buddhist 22-yr old college student that came to lead the ESS group shopping day and Sushi Japanese dinner with McD`s soft serve ice-cream on Saturday in Namba.
During the afternoon, students fluctuated in numbers during the club room meeting, about 15-20 college students.
The activities to practice the verbal skills and encourage interactions with the college students to develop relational bonds. They were able to play group oriented games, e.g. ZOO. So fun! They picked better animals, like SPIDER. They won against the US college students. Creative college students!!! Also, both of our Saturday students <Shige and Harabo, girl> remained with our Japan1 team to spend time with all of us. We were able to make way in exposing each others worldviews. To be continued...
HBC <at Headquarters: Hamadera Bible Church homefront>
the Huang`s <Beland & Priscilla> livingquarters: Collin & I helped wrapped lots of presents with pretty bows/ gospel tracts for college campus <treat bags: 2 full American candy items, audio CD, and thank you cards.
then Tim Jin got a study-work break to help us pass out VBS flyers for Japan2 GCC team at the train station and basketball courts. So the gals <P & D> were at the train station near HBC and the guys <B & C> at the other corner playing basketball, attracting Jr High to HS student to be part of the underdeveloped attending youth group here. P & I got quite a few flyers out to uniformed students, but some did pass by with an awkward stare and ignored us. Then we all met this 16 yr. old kid at the train, whom Jun <JSL interpreter and go-to guy/ scheduler> invited to play B-ball with the boys. We ended meeting up with the guys and Yuki to play HORSE. After the game, we walked him home to his beautiful house and his mom didn`t permit him to hang out with us anymore that evening <there is progress because he`s hanging with us the next morning when school was canceled for RAIN and flood scares.> Thanking GOD for beautiful weather. NO RAIN today!! YAY!!
We`re all together again for dinner. we went to a church member`s, deacon`s, restaurant. FUN times with some HBC members with Aaron & Mark too. Aaron from Crossroads <UCLA grad> sent to the field 6 yrs. ago and Mark a TMC graduate <the English teachers` duo team>.
It been neat to see how wonderfully GOD is at work throughout the day and strengthens church body life by the Word of GOD. I`m thankful for GOD`s BIBLE! JOHN 17:17
