Konbanwa!
This will be a quick post, because it’s getting late and we have an early morning tomorrow.
Friday consisted of:
- visiting the Oumi’s
- talked with Kat’s english class
- getting drenched at Kobe
- dinner with Kondo’s
Oumi-san is doing much better, praise God!! The surgery was successful and he’s already active in doing rehabilitation exercises, such as bicycling and walking. He’s in good spirits, and was really happy that our team came to visit him. Mrs. Oumi is doing well, also. She’s a bit lonely, being by herself now that the girls have moved to Hibino-san’s home, but she’s occupying herself with calligraphy! Keep praying for them! They've been displaying such joy and heart of service towards us even through this trial, and it’s been a great encouragement to all of us. They’re an example of how to show the love of Christ through genuine service and joyful hospitality.

At lunch, we ate with Kat’s english class. Her students are all mothers. All but one are unbelievers so the time we spent with them was purposeful. We tried to share about our own upbringings and what our parents taught us about God, responsibility, and purpose in life. It was hopefully a beneficial time that God can use to produce fruit!
Our team then ventured to Kobe, where it started to pour. We were completely soaked but still got a good chance to explore the city, seeing Chinatown and the port. We originally were supposed to go with students, but none of them were able to come, so it became a team hangout!

We ended the day with dinner with the Kondo’s at their home! It was my first extended time with him and we got to hear his life story! Again, we were served selflessly and were recipients of incredible hospitality. The hospitality of all the church members has blown us away, and it is something that I know I can imitate from them and grow in.
