We met Saturday morning to rehearse a song to sing to the congregation during Sunday service. Gathering the violin, piano and voice parts together for the first time, we ironed out the details of presenting “Blessings,” by Laura Story, to the church.
After having lunch with some of the church members, we went upstairs to wrap some of the gifts we had brought for the church from the U.S.
Our team was blessed with the opportunity to minister to high school students through an HBC sleepover event. It was a wonderful chance for us to interact with a younger crowd who also desperately needed to hear the gospel. By God’s provision, a good number of them did not consider themselves Christians, and the team was able to build bonds with these high school students, who may continue to come to HBC!
We spent quite a bit of time doing a photo scavenger hunt around Hamadera Park, a large park complete with high, complicated (and fun!) slides, a gorgeous fountain, canoeing facilities, a rose garden and a sakura forest. Because of the size of the park, each scavenger hunt group had much time together, and the walk around the park was an excellent time to get to know each other and share memorable moments together.
After dinner and a few more games, the students were led into the sanctuary for worship and a message from Okada-sensei. The session was followed by small group discussions, which lasted past midnight. It was such an encouragement to the team to know that these young students have a desire to know about things like the Trinity, about the Christian life and about the gospel of Christ! We hope that their hunger for truth and knowledge only continues to grow, and that they come back to HBC for answers
The team then went upstairs to sleep to prepare themselves for an exciting and eventful Lord’s day!
Please pray:

Please pray:
- That we remain faithful and active in our relationships with the younger students in the church.
- For energy and dependence on God as we serve through busy schedules.
- That we may be an example of the gospel to all of the students we meet.
- That souls may be saved!!!
