Wednesday has come!
We woke up this morning and met at the church at10:30amwhich seems to be the usual time we meet. I think we’re all tired enough by the end of the day that we’ve adjusted to the new time zone quite easily.
Oumi-san, who is one of the church members and a host family member, is getting bypass surgery soon, so we asked him to bring his cello to play with Ed and Eric. Amazingly he made the cello himself! We all took turns “playing” cello. Afterwards we prayed for him and for the doctors as he undergoes surgery. Please be praying for the wisdom of the doctors, his health, but more importantly that he would trust all thing to God.

During our stay inJapan, we’ve been pointing out the different restaurants and stores that we see as we pass by in the car or on the train. Mcdonalds is definitely one that we recognize and see quite often. Today we had the opportunity to eat at one! The menu inJapanis definitely different and we were all excited to try different things. The Shaka Shaka Chicken was a popular order. You get to add how much cheese or pepper you want. Afterwards you shake! And Shake! Then eat! It was quite an experience.
After lunch we went back to OsakaUniversitywhich was where we first started our trip. We were able to talk with some of the same students again. We also met many other new students! There were no organized games so we played Uno, jenga, and apples to apples with the students. Overall the conversations were good and God opened several opportunities for the gospel to be shared.
For dinner we had okonomiyaki and yakisoba with the OU students. For some of us it was the first time having okonomiyaki. It has been constantly described as a type of “pancake.” I think what was most amusing was playing with the hotplate and water after we had finished eating all the food.
After a long day out, we finally got back to HBC and settled with some green tea icecream popsicles.

Please be praying for:
Please be praying for:
- The hearts of the students as we continue to talk to them about life and the things that they find important.
- More opportunities for deeper conversations with the students and for the gospel to be made known to them.
- The health of Oumi-San and the doctors as he goes through surgery.
- Strength and energy for the team as we talk with the students, plan games and events, and serve each other.
- Full reliance upon God for His provision and His guidance.
