みんな、おはようございます!(Good morning, everyone!)
One thing I always look forward to on this trip is our team meeting. This morning, we talked about Hebrews 12:1-3 and meditated on some of the entanglements we might have in running our Christian race, and certain how we could focus on the race. We also were reminded of the fact that we are NOT competing against each other; instead, we are to spur each other on. Focusing on Jesus, who is the perfector of our faith, and meditating on the cross are the foundation in which we obtain the strength to press on through the race. With this truth we heard and meditated on, we prepared our hearts for another day of meeting new students and building new relationships for the sake of the gospel that has been entrusted in us.
We had a couple of hours of just hanging out and worshiping together as a team, plus Fumika, before we headed out to Nara University. I really enjoyed our worship time; it helped me turn my thoughts toward Christ and the gospel!
Two HBC church members kindly drove all of us to Nara University, where we were welcomed by Yuri. We played Taboo, Apples to Apples, and Uno with the students on campus. It was really fun just getting to know them, helping them get accustomed to our games, and encouraging them to expand their vocabularies. The students then took us to a nearby Italian restaurant. They had really good pasta, pizzas, and some interestingly small dishes. Most importantly, some of us had the opportunity to share with some of the students! Please pray that the students would continue to have the curiosity and desire to learn more about the truth =)
